The Savior King’s Temple is the first book of The Clockwork Chronicles, a fantasy story written by author Meagan Sullivan, who’s a lovely person to work with.

Meagan approached me to create an illustration that would serve for the various versions her book will be available: Paperback, Hardcover with dust jacket, Hardcover (simple) and Ebook. Therefore, the different formatting and margins were designed to work together with minimum variation in the layout.

Once the technical part was set (which, in reality, it’s usually a back and forth process), it was time for the creative juices to run free.

Needless to say that fantasy + mystery + dark –yet, lighthearted– mood are my absolutely favorite type of stories. So I hope the fun I had with this has came through in the final result. (:
